MISSION CALL!!!

I can't believe I have already had my mission call for almost two weeks now! I thought I had better post where I am going on my mission...because I was not home to open my call, nor have I had the opportunity to tell everybody where I'm going. Let me just say, I am SO excited!!!

So here it is...I will be leaving October 1st for the MTC to serve in the.....drum roll please...

Sweden Stockholm Mission

I am excited to get home to start preparing to go. I have a couple of months, and will just hang out in Cedar until I leave. The language will be a challenge, but I can't wait!

Welcome Back Suzanne! Part 2

I know I said I would keep you updated about my trip...sorry, everywhere I was in Germany I had to pay to use the internet, and couldn't spend what little time I had on posting on my blog, so here I am, back in Scotland, and I thought I would take just a minute to post a little something about my trip.

Germany was absolutely fantastic!! Every place we went was so full of history, and beautiful architecture, and we just had a really fun time! I will be sure to post pictures when I get home of some of the amazing things I saw! One of the crazy things about being in another country is the language barrier. I tried really hard to say what I could in German...but usually, the person I was talking to would be able to tell immediately that I was American, and would use English with me...I did try though.

Olivia and I have had a really good time, and I'm glad I got to spend this time with her before I leave on my mission!

Wecome Back Suzanne Part 1

So I got into Scotland about noon yesterday...my flight had been delayed out of the JFK airport in New York City....for almost two hours, so all in all, I was ready to be out of airports and off of airplanes by the time I got here.

We just hung out in Edinburgh yesterday...did some shopping, ate at Frankie and Benny's...of course New York style restaurant, and best of all...just got to spend time with Olivia. I was also so excited to see Patti and Will. Olivia's mom and step-dad...who are so kind to me. I got in the shower this morning, and Patti had left me a message on the mirror. It says, "Welcome Back Suzanne" so when I was getting out of the shower...I knew I was welcome here.

We leave for Germany tomorrow...we still have things to do like get money switched to Euros, figure out where we will be able to attend church on the Sundays we are there...and get directions to all the hostels we will be staying at. Seeing as though neither of us know the language all that well...directions will be a very good thing. ;) I hope all of you are doing well. I'll post on here as often as I get the opportunity. :) And the pictures will come later! P.S. If you didn't already know, my mission papers are in Salt Lake. It's only a matter of weeks before I find out where I will have the opportunity to serve the Lord. I am so excited!!

Surprise!!!!

My roommates threw me a surprise going away/birthday party about a week ago. My roommates had been telling me for days that we were just going to dinner before I left as roommates. The couple of days before I left, I was worn out from school, and packing, and everything else going on, and hadn't gotten ready for the day. So as it got closer to dinner time, I wondered why my roomies kept pushing me to get ready for the night. Well, I luckily decided to get ready, because as we left for dinner, Jor wanted to see what was going on in the lounge in my apt. complex. She opened the door, told me to come (because she all of a sudden had a complex about going somewhere by herself...which is NOT Jor) and there were all my friends from my ward yelling surprise at me. I had NO idea that they were throwing me a party. Here are some pics. of the night. They had snuck out my Wii from the apartment, and we did Dance Dance Revolution, and American Idol Karaoke. It was awesome! The other big surprise was that a guy named Kevin in my ward gave me a brand new set of Scriptures that everybody at the party signed. It was the best gift!!
