What a CRAZY Day!!!!

So on Saturday, I had the joyous, and exciting opportunity to move apartments. First of all, between my roommate and I, we have more than enough stuff. So we had packed our cars with as much as we could, and the rest was in the living room, waiting for the chance to get to our new apartment. We were both hoping that the girls moving into the apartment would not be moving in until later on Saturday....or even on Monday, but they showed up at quarter to nine Saturday morning. You guessed it, all of our things were sitting in the living room, and we had no where to go until noon. So, we ended up moving all of our things from the living room to the front lawn. I sat outside on the front lawn of my old apartment with all of the things that weren't in my car for a little while. Then, luckily, Kristin Parson came and saved the day. She packed up her car, then I called my cousin Charisse, and she showed up with her car, and magically...most everything was off the lawn.

To add to all the moving confusion, our friend Julia had asked Jor to drop off some wedding flowers to a wedding she was doing, and we were ready to drop off the flowers and the family called asking Jor where she was. She then went to the location where the family had said she would meed them, and they again called asking her where she was. She asked them which temple they were at....and of course.....it was Salt Lake, not Provo. We had to call Julia and let her know the problem, and that was just another added stress to the day.

The best is that it doesn't end there....from getting the drive-thru guys at Wendy's in trouble for my not thinking there were straws in our bag, to WAY too many hours since a shower....the whole day stunk! But, luckily, we got all moved in to our new apartment, and we're so glad to be there. At church yesterday, I was excited to meet all the new people in my ward, and our roommates seem like really nice girls. Although the day was one of the most interesting in a while, it turned out to be ok. I was definitely glad to go to sleep that night!!!

Back to school

So yesterday was my first day back at Brookside Elementary. We have something like 26 and 1/2 days left until school is out. Who's counting though? I am glad to be back, but I'm also excited to be done! Yesterday, I had my 5th and 6th grade students come up with lyrics and songs for our principal Mike Hicks, who is retiring at the end of the year. Some of them were so enjoyable that I recorded them on my camera. I had to post them, for the sake of the entertainment they bring.

Saturday with the Girls

So I just want to write about today...Addy, my niece called me yesterday asking me if I wanted to go get a pedicure with her. Of course I wanted to. So today, after our every Saturday lunch with the family, we went to get pedicures. Addy of course was a great sport and waited so patiently while she was waiting for Melissa and me to be done. I then chose to get flowers on my toes this time, to match Addy's cute flowers. I am going to take a picture, and post it when I get home. I just had a good time today with my girls here in Cedar. Tonight, I will be at Whitney and Theora's recital, and I'm headed back up to Provo tomorrow. School starts on Monday, and I only have SIX WEEKS left before I'm done with my first year of teaching. I just have to find a job for when I move back to Cedar.

Back to SUU

Ok, so everything I have planned on for the last....I don't know....six months, has fallen through. The high school choir job I was going to have, the different teaching job, a place to live...although that has worked itself out. Over my break here at home I have formulated a brand new plan. We'll see if this one goes through. I would really like it to though, so here it is. I am going to go back to SUU and do the brand new Bachelors of Music degree there, in order to do the performing, the diction classes, the foreign language classes, and the other resume building experiences I have been missing in order to get into grad school.

I know it sounds crazy. I understand the thought of me getting a third Bachelor's Degree instead of a Master's seems crazy, but I see it as an awesome opportunity for me to make myself marketable to get into a good school for my further degrees. Plus, let's all remember that I'm only 22, and rushed through my other two degrees, thinking that school teaching was the thing for me.

Well it's not. I enjoy the children I teach, I know I have the knack for teaching, but my heart is in my singing. I have missed performing so much since I have moved up to Provo, and been teaching full time. I want to perform....wherever I can, as long as I can. I think the talents I have been blessed with in music should not go undeveloped, and that is how I feel right now...that I have not given my voice the chance it deserves to be something amazing.

Enough rambling for one night, but that's the latest in my somewhat crazy, and unpredictable life. I'll be sure to post when things either go through, OR I have a different plan. :)

Always Glad to Come Home

It's my Spring Break from school this week, and I'm so glad to have a break. Today I came home to Cedar-and it's always so good to come home. I came straight to my brother Bryan and sister Melissa's house, where I have had the exciting, tiring, and most entertaining time tending Addy and Dawson. There's nothing better than getting to hang out with those two. I was lying down with Dawson...after we read two children's books, the scriptures, said prayer, finished clean up, and brushed teeth, and Dawson said the sweetest thing, "Nanny, I love you and I love everybody." I replied back, "I love you too Daws." He then went on, "Do you love everybody though Nanny?" I then went on to repeat with him several times that I love him, and I love everybody too. He's so sweet, and has a really impressive singing voice for a three year old little boy. I guess I just feel grateful to have such a wonderful family and to have the option to come home whenever I want to be around lots of people who I love, and that love me. Oh, by the way....Jordan and I had a fantastic time rocking out to Ricky Martin, Shania Twain, the Spice Girls...and many others on the way from Provo. What an awesome roommate and friend I have!

176th Ward Luau

So last night, we had our ward closing social. My roommate Jordan planned pretty much the whole thing. We had the hula dancing, the pit roasted pig, and even lei's to wear during the party. I love to help Jor with her calling, and will continue to wish that the rest of her committee would have helped her out more. We had a fantastic slide show, and the only tragic part of the evening was that it was a little bit chilly. This is April in Utah....can't expect too much from the weather. Anyway, the evening turned out to be quite wonderful, and I am excited for a new ward and new, exciting, probably somewhat awkward social situations.

I have started a blog.

I have decided that it would be fun to start a blog so that people can know what's going on in my life, and so I write more down....for future generations or something like that. :-) I'll post pictures, and just the ever changing events of my life.
